Jon Maurer

Jon is an Associate Church Health Coach, pastor, and church planter with a bachelor's in psychology from Central Michigan University and a Master of Theology from Fuller Seminary — a combination that shows up in how he works. He pays attention to what's actually happening in people and in systems, and he's convinced that every person has a real part to play in God's story. He thrives when he's helping leaders step fully into their own calling rather than someone else's.

Born and raised in Michigan, Jon's ministry has taken him across the country: Bible school in West Florida, church planting in Minneapolis, MN and again in Pasadena, CA, and a season in Baton Rouge, LA, where he and his wife Kate walked alongside a community rebuilding from devastation. Since 2018 he has been Lead Pastor of Foothill Vineyard Church in San Dimas, CA, where the family has felt deeply at home.

As Vice President of NCD America, Jon works to put church health tools into the hands of ordinary pastors — the ones carrying real weight in real congregations. He's less interested in theory than in what a leader can use on Monday morning. His conviction is straightforward: the church should be the healthiest thing on the planet. Pastors don't need more pressure to make that happen — they need a clearer picture of what's actually going on and what to do next.

Jon and Kate are raising five kids — Judah, Creed, Haven, Remedy, and Shepherd. He camps and backpacks with them whenever he can, loves any excuse to work in Iceland, and keeps a personal library of more than 7,000 books.
